[Flash] Adobe Flash For Mobiles in 2nd Half Of 2010

Murdoch’s Fox TV has spoken to Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayen. Besides talking about their intimacy to Apple, Narayen says Adobe Flash for mobile devices like Palm Pre or Android is coming in 2nd half of 2010.

Regarding Apple’s anti-flash position, Narayen said:

With respect to Apple, it really isn’t a technology decision as much as it is a business decision. And they’ve chosen to keep their system a proprietory and closed system, which it why they are not supporting Flash. And I think that this hurts customers.(..)

You’re gonna see phones that run the Android operating system from Google or the Palm operating system support the web in all its glory. (..)

And so what we think is that consumers will eventually vote for the experience that they want through their wallet.

[iPad] Israel’s Customs Confiscate Imported U.S. iPads

Haaretz reports that several iPads have been confiscated by Israel customs during the last days. It seems the U.S. american iPads don’t comply with Israel’s wireless networks. Thus the Communications Ministry has legally blocked the import of iPads to Israel.

“The iPad device sold exclusively today in the United States operates at broadcast power levels [over its WiFi modem] compatible with American standards,” explained the officials. “As the Israeli regulations in the area of WiFi are similar to European standards, which are different from American standards, which permit broadcasting at lower power, therefore the broadcast levels of the device prevent approving its use in Israel,” said the officials.

Don’t try to bring iPad to Israel in your hand-baggage. It would be confiscated anyway.

[iPhone] Dev Team Released Developer Jailbreak for iPhone OS 4

The jailbreak the iPhone Dev Team released a couple of days ago is in no way intended to be used by end-users rather than developers. It is a jailbreak-only, that allows Cydia based developers to make their apps compatible to iPhone OS 4.0.

The jailbreak still requires a legal activation via iTunes and a valid subscription. Means: the redsn0w tool will not hacktivate or sim-unlock your devices. If you ain’t a dev, you are strongly advised not to update, got me?
