[iOS] Steinberg Cubasis for iPad Released

Steinberg just released an iOS App of Cubasis. The iOS version allows exporting projects to Cubase for Windows and Cubase for MacOSX. The GUI looks quite familiar to the desktop version of Cubase and we suppose, for Cubase users this is a real fun tool when being on the road. Via background midi/audio other iOS-Apps can be used as virtual instruments.

According to Steinborg’s website, Cubasis got these features:

  • Unlimited audio and MIDI tracks (depending on the device used)
  • Over 70 virtual instrument sounds based on HALion Sonic
  • Mixer with over 10 effect processors (insert and send effects)
  • Over 300 MIDI and audio loops
  • Virtual keyboard and virtual drum pads
  • Sample Editor and Key Editor
  • Export to Cubase, Dropbox, SoundCloud, AudioCopy & email
  • Core Audio and Core MIDI compatible hardware supported
  • Sequence other Core MIDI apps (MIDI recording only) and run Cubasis simultaneously via background audio
  • Import audio from your iTunes music library or using iTunes filesharing, use AudioPaste or set up a Wi-Fi server in Cubasis

All this sounds very appealing and the AppStore price of about 45€ seems fair aswell. The only real downside is Cubasis requires iOS 6.01. And many iPad music-app-users are still having nightmares when thinking about operating system updates. iOS 5 update from iOS 4 for instance broke compatibility to many muzaq apps and hardware devices.

[Muzaq] Alcoholic Faith Mission: My Eyes To See

When two guys from Denmark feel it is too narrow there and they decide to move to Brooklyn, so how does this sound then? Listen carefully to “My Eyes to See”. It is taken from AFM’s upcoming Album “Let This Be the Last Night We Care” (to be released on March 5th, 2010).

Description? No, thanks this is something between post-rock, electronic and pop. Just listen, it sounds very nice. If this was mainstream pop, we could turn on the radio without having to barve again and again.

By the way, they are touring through Europe in March 2010. Check their dates here.

[Muzaq] Dukes of Windsor: It’s A War

[Update] Former article title: [Muzaq] Dukes of Windows: It’s A War. Yes, you’d better not ask. And no, (sadly) Microsoft is not paying us for those typos…

That’s the sound of Australians living here in Berlin. The song “It’s A War” is taken from their upcoming album “It’s A War”. Until then enjoy the latest single from the Dukes of Windsor.

YouTube might have disabled access to this song from some countries… Did we tell you about swedish VPN services yet? No? Ok, we’re gonna catch up on that soon ;-)

[Muzaq] Reclaim the Beats at Cassiopeia’s

Whenever you visit Berlin and you like independent Techno and Electro, we got a nice hint for you. You gotta see the Cassiopeia in the Friedrichshain district. As a matter of chance our team went to the Cassiopeia place yesterday and enjoyed accidently an event named “Reclaim the Beats“.

Reclaim the Beats

To make things shorts as possible. That were by far the most intelligent sounds we’ve heard for a long time. The guys playing the records on the floor under the roof were almost half as young as we am, but we take a bow in deepest respect. You guys definitly have shown a unique taste for sounds. Reclaim the Beats is the only adequate wording for that event. We’d recommend to simply call it DIT (Demanding intelligent Techno). Information and dates of Reclaim the Beats to be found here.

Cassiopeia

The Cassiopeia is fairly unique in Berlin. It’s got three club locations, and indoor skate park, a beer garden, probably the largest climbing tower in Berlin and many more things to discover. The price of a Caipirinha is at 5€. More information to be found here
