No luck with kalyway 10.5.2 then update to 10.5.4 using your instructions above. I followed these very closely, made sure I ran the delete loop script, backed up my kexts, etc. No luck, stuck on the grey screen with apple logo, then a little circle with a diagonal cross through it appears over the top of the apple logo after about 1 minute. Re-installing 10.5.2 now, I'll stick with it until more people report success.

did you follow the step to edit the /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1
In that 1 file there must be a line of code like this (old)

/System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext

This needs to be changed to this (new):

/System/Library/Extensions/dsmos.kext

is the dsmos.kext still present after update? We had a prob once, where this file got deleted during update. See here: http://news.metaparadigma.de/?p=15

Works great. Thanks guys. No probs at all when coming from 10.5.3

@tomtom: you noticed the difference between updating from 10.5.3 and updating from below 10.5.3, didn't you?

You can simply use the auto-updater from within MacOS X’ Software Update (see picture).
Dont follow this! Exept you now what you are doing! I made the "simply" Live Update. Now I can Install everything new. Thank you

From which version did you try to update? From 10.5.3 or from below 10.5.3? As headlined: there is a tiny difference...
